We are celebrating!! The Department of Tourism announced that the Philippines won three Asia Regional Titles in the 2020 World Travel Awards.
The awards are:
*Asia's Best Dive Destination
*Asia's Leading Beach Destination
*Asian's Tourist Board.
The World Travel Awards were founded in 1993, and are administered by the British for-profit company World Media And Events Limited. The annual awards are given both on an overall world-level basis, and on eight international region-levels, in a wide range of categories including tourist hotels/accommodation, tourist attractions, and airlines/transport. They have been referred to as the "Oscars of the travel industry".
Voting was undertaken online during 28 September - 25 October 2020, with an individual's vote counted as one, and a certified travel industry practitioner as two votes.
Tourism Attache Ms Norjamin Delos Reyes commented:
