The Philippines has a new Miss Universe candidate with Cebu City’s BEATRICE LUIGI GOMEZ who won the crown Thursday night at the Hennan Resort Convention Center at the Alona Beach, Panglao, Bohol, Philippines. This year’s pageant which began with 100 candidates narrowed the candidates to 27 of the fiercest, most accomplished and eloquent candidates vying for the most coveted title in Philippine pageant history.
Beatrice is a community development worker and a navy marines reservist. She is also a former varsity volleyball player, does boxing, scuba diving and mixed martial arts. She is also the first openly bisexual candidate to enter the pageant and win - making history for the members of the LGBTQIA+ community.
Beatrice won in a blue crystal studded evening gown created by renowned fashion designer Furne One Amato – which also won her the best in evening gown award that night.

Beatrice was crowned by Miss Universe Philippines 2020 Rabiya Mateo. The crown was a design by the Villarica Family and is aptly called the “Filipina” crown – it is embedded with diamonds in each leaf which signifies “the sparkle” in the lives of people that each woman encounters, the golden south sea pearls represent four values of creativity, intelligence, optismism and fear of God, sapphire, ruby and topaz was patterned after the colors of the Philippine flag. The crown has an estimated value of ?5 million (nearly $100,000.00).

Beatrice will be competing in the 70th Miss Universe pageant which will be held in Eliat, Israel in December 2021.
Formerly handled by the Binibining PIlipinas headed by Madame Stella Marquez-Araneta, the Miss Universe franchise is now held by the Miss Universe Philippines Organization headed by the following personalities:
