It may be the 21st century but society must remain vigilant in protecting racial equality.

In the world of tech gadgets and the race to conquer Mars, some people are still stuck in their backward views around race and human rights.

Australians from various cultural heritage were reminded of this when the current government proposed to change rules around racial discrimination. See our latest article here (No to 'open season' on racism).

This has galvanised communities in Sydney to raise their objections against this and has urged the government to withdraw any plans to "dilute" the laws, effectively allowing racial hatred acts with no legal consequences.

Later this month, there is a Walk For Respect event to be held in Sydney (see poster below). Australians are also urged to sign the petition and raise their voices against racial discrimination.
