It’s another brow tutorial week with practical ways to flatter your facial features by improving the symmetry and at times knock off some years off your looks. After discussing the proper measure and the correct shading for your brows, this article provides you the specific brow for your face shape.
First let’s discover what your face shape is. Pull your hair back to get a full view of your face and observe your hairline to see which shape you have.
ROUND-SHAPED FACE – when your facial width and length are roughly the same size
OVAL-SHAPED FACE – when your forehead is slightly wider than the chin with high cheek bones
HEART-SHAPED FACE – when your forehead is wider with a sharp chin
SQUARE-SHAPED FACE – when your forehead, jawline and cheekbones are all the same width
DIAMOND-SHAPED FACE – when you have wide cheeks with a narrower chin and forehead
LONG-SHAPED FACE – when your forehead, cheekbones and chin are of the same width
Now that you have found out your face shape, what brow shape would be good for you?
If you’ve got a round face like Emma Stone, Mila Kunis, Kathryn Bernardo or Angelica Panganiban, you’d want to create an illusion of a longer face. This can be achieved with high-arched brows which will provide a vertical point making your face look slim and elongated. Brush your eyebrows upwards to lift the brows and darken them from the arch.
If your face shape is like Jessica Alba, Beyonce, Bea Alonzo or Jessy Mendiola then you have an oval face. Consider yourself lucky because it can carry almost any brow shape. To add dimension to your face without being too harsh, a softly-angled brow will do the trick!
Heart-shaped faces like Liza Soberano, Scarlett Johansson and Naomi Campbell would need to soften their face shape by doing a rounded brow shape which counters the more angular areas of your face.
If you’ve got a square-shaped face like Olivia Wilde, Angelina Jolie, Anne Curtis and Toni Gonzaga, go for thick flat brows with a slightly angle to soften the corners of your face and add a different dimension to your face.
A diamond-shaped face like Shakira and Serena Williams go with curved brows which lifts the face by making it appear more round. Lengthening your brown will also help balance a sharp jaw.
Long-shaped faces like Lucy Liu, Kelly Rowland, Julia Baretto and Alex Gonzaga needs long flat brows to add width to your face. This time, the brow’s colour gradient should lighten on the edge as it goes further to the ear line.
Just remember that thicker eyebrows create a semblance of youth so don’t over pluck. If you need to pluck your eyebrows, pluck in areas where you want to create the arch meant for your face shape.
