If you’re tired of going through your cookbooks or have gone through all the online cooking shows, here something to spice up your cooking experience.

The Filipino staple viand, adobo takes centerstage on February 29 in the first of a series of cooking demos hosted by the Filipino Food Movement Australia (FFMA). Happening at the Paddy’s Kitchen in Haymarket, Sydney the event aptly called “Sahog” – a Filipino term for ingredients – endeavours to feature Filipino cuisine as created by Filipino Chefs, cookbook authors, restaurant owners, food bloggers, food aficionados and expert home cooks from the Fil-Aussie community to bring the Philippine’s well-loved dishes to the consciousness of the Australian dining public.

Hosted by FFMA’s President Anna Manlulo, Sahog’s first offering provides insights and the many facets of the Philippine’s national dish, adobo. Learn how to make your own adobo at home and experience the many ways that it can be presented and enjoyed. Apart from the cooking demo which features basic tips and tricks in creating your take on this flavourful concoction, there will also be Q&A’s about the secrets in making this world-famous dish as you feast on freshly cooked adobo in four ways! All the ingredients for the cooking workshop will be sourced locally through Paddy’s Haymarket producers. 

“Sahog” will be a series of workshops to watch out for.  Be there on February 29 at either 11 am to 1 pm or at 2pm to 4pm and get ready to immediately show off your new cooking techniques with the easy-to-do dishes courtesy of the Filipino Food Movement Australia.
