In February 2015, Pope Francis appointed as HE Most RevAdolfo Tito Camacho Yllana Apostolic Nuncio to Australia.  Pope Francis has just confirmed that Most Rev Archbishop Tito, as he is fondly referred to by Filipinos around the globe, to his new post as the new Apostolic Nuncio to Israel and Cyprus and Apostolic Delegate to Jerusalem and Palestine.

Archbishop Yllana was born in the City of Naga in the Bicol Region of the Philippines on 06 February 1948. He finished his grade school education at the Naga Parochial School, then entered the Holy Rosary Seminary for priestly formation. After being ordained a priest on 19 March 1972, he took further studies at the Pontifical Lateran University in Rome, where he graduated as Doctor juris utrusque (Doctor of Both Laws).

Following his completion of his studies at the Ecclesiastical Academy in 1984, he entered the diplomatic service of the Holy See.  He served successively at Pontifical Representations in Ghana, Sri Lanka, Turkey, Lebanon, Hungary and Taiwan. In December 2001, Pope St. John Paul II appointed him as Apostolic Nuncio to Papua New Guinea and consecrated him Bishop on 6 January 2002 in St. Peter's Basilica. The same pope then entrusted him with the leadership of the nunciature in the Solomon Islands. Pope Benedict XVI appointed him as Apostolic Nuncio to Pakistan in 2006 and Apostolic Nuncio to the Democratic Republic of Congo in 2010.

Although based in Canberra, the most Rev Archbishop Tito attended many Fil-Aus events held in Sydney, other places within NSW and beyond.
