The government has identified another health issue that the people needs to be aware of and take preventative measures.  This is Japanese Encephalitis. NSW Health has rolled out facts for the information of the people.

NSW recorded one death caused by Japanese Encephalitis (JE). A man from the Riverina region was NSW’s first death from the mosquito-borne JE, health authorities confirmed on Wednesday afternoon.

The man in his 70s, from the Griffith area, died in a Sydney hospital on February 13.  His infection with the virus, which was first detected in southern and western NSW commercial pig farms late last month, was confirmed through post-mortem testing.

Yesterday, it was reported a man in his 60s from northern Victoria had also passed away due to the virus.

The information on JE has been rolled out two days ago.

Details and further updates on JE can be found on NSW Health website.

As the NSW government is doing its best to effectively address the health problems caused by COVID 19 and its variants by implementing a responsive vaccination program and treatment of those who have serious symptoms and effects of the virus.

Today’s count of cases is lower than yesterday’s but remaining in the range of more than 10,000 total of RAT and PCR results in the recent days.
