Having fun putting on your make-up yet? So here’s something to remember while you’re experimenting with different looks.

  1. GET YOUR SKIN READY

Always remember that good make-up begins with a good skin care routine. Never forget the triumvirate of skin care – Cleanse. Tone. Moisturize. This gets your skin ready for the make-up to sit correctly on your skin. Don’t forget to use all the products based on your skin type and skin tone.

  1. LESS IS MORE

It’s always better to build than to erase. Beginning with a pea size amount of any liquid product especially foundation would work better by applying sparingly. It saves a lot of time and effort to just do one controlled application than to erase too much make-up and start all over again.

  1. APPLICATION IS KEY

Remember that where the brush touches the skin would be the darkest part of the make-up. It’s always better to lightly apply the make-up to avoid too much saturation in one area. Always start on the same point then blend outwards. And it’s always safe to knock off some product off the brush before applying.

  1. REFRESH THEN RETOUCH

When refreshing your make-up, do not apply product over it because it will just pack up and later on crease. You can always use a dry sponge to pat over the oily parts of your face to take out the oil first to create a smoother area before applying make-up.

  1. UPDATE ONE ASPECT AT A TIME
If you’re updating your look from day to night, focus first on one aspect, check and see if you still need to change anything else. You can either deepen the colour of your lips or smoke out your eyes. This saves you time and effort and less of the stress of updating your look.

Try these tips out and have fun with make-up.
