An online event will be held by the EDSA '86 People Power Commemorative Committee Australia on February 25 at 6pm.  The event which is titled "Remembering EDSA '86, Revisiting People Power, Rekindling Its Spirit" will be held by zoom. 

The online forum will involve EDSA Icon Jim Paredes, torture survivor Maria Elena Ang, writer Benjie de Ubago and union activist Chona Davidson.  For zoom link and other details, please contact any of the people listed in the flyer.

Filipinos all over the world remember that on February 25, 1986, the People Power Revolution, also known as the EDSA Revolution resulted in the end of the Marcos Dictatorship with the Marcoses leaving the Philippines.  The series of protests agains Marcos occurred during February 22 to 25, primarily at the Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (popularly known as EDSA) in Metro Manila. 

February 25, 2022 is a special non-working holiday as the Presidential Proclamation 1236 in the Philippines and observed in various Philippine government offices overseas.. 


 
In Metro Manila, academics and martial law survivors will also hold an educational protest on Friday for the commemoration of the 36th anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolution at the site of the historic event at EDSA..

The commemoration will be a  'grand teach-in' will remember the people's sacrifices and solidarity that ended the Marcos dictatorship in 1986. The event, dubbed as "Ibalik ang Ninakaw, Hindi ang Magnanakaw," aims to debunk myths on the Marcos regime, shed light on the alleged crimes committed by his family, and prevent Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. from winning the presidential race.
