It’s pageant season and it’s time for the big 2! So let’s take a break from all the controversies brought about by the last Miss Grand International 2021 pageant and let’s focus on helping out our final 2 queens from the Philippines.

So far, the Philippines have won 3 international crowns – triathlete and businesswoman Alexandra Faith Garcia won Miss Aura International, a 6 year old competition where she bested 45 women from all over the world in Antalya, Turkey, October 4, 2021; Cagayan de Oro Tourism Officer Cindy Obeñita won Miss Intercontinental 2021 last October 29  winning over 70 international candidates in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt; finally last November 5 in Tirana, Albania, Maureen Montagne brought home the 2nd The Miss Globe crown in a fierce multi-level competition with 50 stunning women from around the globe.

On the final stretch are the big 2 pageants which are both celebrating  their 70th edition – Miss World will happen at the Jose Miguel Agrelot Coliseum in San Juan, Puerto Rico on December 16, 2021 and the Miss Universe pageant will be staged at the Universe Arena in Eliat, Israel on December 12, 2021.

Now, let’s meet the queens who will battle it out carrying the Philippine Flag:

Tracy Maureen Perez

Competing for Miss World is Tracy Maureen Perez who hails from Cebu City. She is 28 years old and has a degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of San Carlos in Cebu City. She competes with the advocacy of equal access to quality education having been in very difficult situations growing up until she got her degree.

Beatrice Luigi Gomez

Our Miss Universe Philippines is another beauty from Cebu City - Beatrice Luigi Gomez. She is currently taking up Mass Communication at the University of San Jose in Cebu and is  a community development worker, a Philippine Navy Marines Reservist under the 82nd Marine Battalion Reserve of the Naval Reserve Center of Eastern Visayas, and a proud bisexual who became the first member of the LGBTQIA+ community to win the Miss Universe Philippines title. Her advocacy is geared towards youth empowerment and has been closely working with Children in Contact with the Law at a juvenile facility called “Operation Second Chance” of the Department of Social Welfare Services of Cebu City.
