NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian announced on Wednesday the lifting of COVID 19 restrictions following the state went eight days without a locally-acquired Covid infection.

The major changes to the rules coming into effect at 12:01 on Monday, March 29 will bring an end to mandatory face masks, as well as allowing weddings, funerals and dancing to be enjoyed in unlimited numbers.

Face masks on public transport will also be changed from 'mandatory' to 'strongly recommended'.  

People are also reminded that they can now check their eligibility for the COVID 19 vaccine.
