*outdoor gatherings of up to 10 people

*cafes, restaurants, pubs and clubs can seat 10 patrons

*up to 5 visitors to a household at any one time

*weddings up to 10 guests

*indoor funerals up to 20 mourners, outdoor funerals up to 30

*places of worship/religious gatherings up to 10 worshippers at a time

There is still an over-riding requirement that 1.5m physical distance between individuals is observed.

The easing of the controls has been welcomed especially by local eateries which have announced their intention to serve up to 10 patrons in limited bookings, and will have controls like contactless payment and increased hygiene.

While barbers and hairdressers are allowed to open but observing social distancing requirements,  beauty, nail, tanning and waxing salons and spas are closed except for selling goods and gift vouchers (including for services redeemable at a later date).  For details of other businesses, refer to:  https://www.nsw.gov.au/covid-19/businesses-and-employment/services-open-for-business

As these new rules come in, Ms Berejiklian has urged all residents to be "more vigilant" . "There will be many more people out and about, and out and about for recreation as opposed to other reasons," she said.

"That is a big shift in the way we are managing the pandemic, a big shift in the way in which people can have that extra bit of freedom."

She also appealed for people, especially healthcare workers and those experiencing some symptoms to have themselves tested.
