The usual Friday night livestreaming initiative by the Philippine Consulate General Sydney and Sentro Rizal Sydney is as usual on at 6pm, tonight November 13, 2020.   Tonight's feature in fact is highighting the Sentro Rizal Sydney's comprehensive library.

This is in accordance to the Presidential Proclamation No. 837, series of 1991, which dedicates the entire month of November each year to the Library and Information Services (LIS) Month.

The month-long event is meant to recognise the invaluable contribution of the country’s libraries and information centres to the continuous pursuit of knowledge.

The 30th LIS month’s theme, “LibREAL: Relate, Engage, Advocate, Lead”, stresses the role of libraries in attaining sustainable development goals, which is incorporated in the Philippine Development Plan (PDP) 2017-2022.

The Sentro Rizal Sydney's Library which is located on the premises of the Philippine Consulate General's premises boasts of a wealth of resource materials on Philippine arts, culture and languages. It has books, digital videos, discs, compact discs, films, magazines, artworks, as well as promotion and information materials.
