“Wow! What an adorable, multi-talented young man! I am definitely love stricken!” “Brian took us to a new level of entertainment! I enjoyed everything!” I look forward to watching him again, over and over again!” “He made my day! This young Filipino artist was oozing with confidence and talents in singing, dancing, emceeing, and making the audience feel important and loved”. “Thank you Cumberland Council for organising this spectacular event and inviting Brian Lorenz to share his many performing talents with us, seniors.”

These were some of the feedbacks from a number of the attendees at the Morning Tea, part of the Seniors Festival Event, organised by Cumberland City Council held at DOOLEYS Regents Park Sports Club last Thursday, 31ST of March 2022 from 10:30 am – 12:30 pm. Everybody went home, fully satisfied with the free morning tea and spectacular free entertainment ably provided by Brian Lorenz who did the emceeing, singing, dancing and making everybody feel equally important and welcomed with his usual versatility and wit!  It was also a good opportunity for a number of seniors representing diverse communities to showcase their talents in playing a variety of musical instruments and dancing.

A day before the event, Dr Cen Amores was contacted by Jacqueline Andres, Service Development Coordinator for Cumberland City Council to ask Cen to help promote the free morning tea event and entertainment to be held the next day. It was during that brief phone conversation that Dr Cen was pleasantly surprised and glad to know that artist extraordinaire Brian Lorenz to be their special guest performer.

Cen happily proceeded to contact some of the senior members of APCO, ASCON, MATF and Kapitbahayan, inviting them to attend the free event the next day. With the assistance of Violy Escultura, a former APCO President, Cen was able to book one table. Cen took delight in contacting Jacqueline and giving this message: Thank you for having Brian Lorenz, our pride in our community to take centre stage in tomorrow’s big event. I am very confident that Brian will not disappoint the seniors with his versatility as a total entertainer!”

Among the senior community leaders who represented the Filipino-Australian community were: Dr Cen Amores - APCO founding President, ASCON immediate Past President and MATF Chairperson with husband Ruben - founding President of Kapitbahayan Cooperative Ltd and ASCON; Dr Edgar and Violeta Escultura - current President and past President of APCO respectively, Carmen Fraser, APCO Secretary and husband Gordon; Zeny Piosik, APCO Director and partner Jean Marcel Malliate.
