The Australian Filipina is delighted to bring to its readers the Christmas Fun Facts cheers shared by the Philippine Tourism in Australia and New Zealand team led by Tourism Attache Norjamin S. Delos Reyes.

We are glad to share the fifth set in the series.  This features Belen or the Nativity which is the focus of Christmas celebrations by Filipinos around the
world.

The Belen captures the wonder of the birth of Jesus Christ in a manger, as all the inns were full.  It symbolises the great love and humility of the Lord for mankind for him to be brought out in the world in such a humble setting.  The scene includes the Infant Jesus, Mary, Joseph and the Three Kings.

Christmas decorations especially in the homes are  not complete without the Belen.  The significance of the Belen has been inculcated from the early schooling and in the family and community Christmas celebrations.  Enactment and dramatisation of the event are undertaken from the kindergarten level in schools and in various community events.

Here's another offering by the Philippine Tourism in Australia and New Zealand:

Marami man ang pinagdaanan ngayong taon, buhay pa rin ang liwanag ng pagmamahalan, pagbibigayan, at pag-asa sa ating mga puso. Maligayang Pasko po sa ating lahat!
