Tomorrow, April 25, Australians around the world will pay respect to the courageous men and women who served during World War I.

Anzac Day 2020 will be unlike any other. Due to restrictions which are part of COVID-19 control measures, for the first time in a century, the streets will be deserted; there will be no usual suburban dawn services, mid-morning marches or afternoon two-up matches; nor gatherings in Returned Services League  [RSL] Clubs.

Instead Australians are asked to unite and recognise past and current armed services personnel by standing in their driveways or living rooms at 6am for an ANZAC Day commemoration with a difference.

The RSL has also encouraged people to take part in a Community Ode by recording a video of themselves reciting The Ode and posting it to social media in the lead-up to ANZAC Day.

The Australian Filipina joins all Australians and New Zealanders in commemorating this significant part of our history. Lest we forget.

What you can do tomorrow:

1) Watch the memorial service online at 5.30am on ABC.

2) At 6am, go to your driveway, front gates or balcony to join others as the online networks broadcast the Ode, the Last Post, the Minute's Silence and Reveille segment of the national service.

3) As mentioned in the above article, record a video of yourself reciting The Ode and post it on social media.
