Popular and talented Filipino-Australian stage actor/singer/dancer Marcus Rivera, who has tirelessly shared his talents in community events and fundraising concerts for the Haiyan typhoon survivors over the last several months, has gone on tour with the legendary The King and I stage play.

For most of the remainder of the year, Rivera will be part of the production by Opera Australia of the revival of the famous Rodgers and Hammerstein musical play. He covers the role of the Prime Minister and is also part of the ensemble as he previously did in the 2010 production staged in Melbourne.

This year, members of the Filipino-Australian community and the general public in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney will get the chance to catch a glimpse of Marcus’ talents.

The King and I has started its season on 15 April 2014 in Brisbane at the Lyric Theatre, Queensland Performing Arts Centre and will run through to 1 June. From 10 of June to 17 of August, the show will be staged in Melbourne at the Princess Theatre. The final leg of the tour will be in Sydney, from 7 September to the 1 November, in the Joan Sutherland Theatre at Australia’s iconic Sydney Opera House.

The King and I runs for 2 hours and 50 minutes duration with a 20 minute interval. For more information and updates, check out www.opera.org.au.
