Sydney singer Veronica Monro has recently returned from a successful trip to Hollywood, California as one of the Top 25 singers of Avon Voices, and is now the only contender to represent Australia out of over 6000 global entries in the worldwide search for cosmetic giant Avon’s new voice.

While there, Veronica had the chance to sing alongside some of the music industry’s most elite musicians, including Grammy award winner David Pack, Grammy award nominated Jazz pianist Patrice Rushen (Temptations, Chaka Khan, Babyface), and Grammy award winning producer and drummer, Ricky Lawson (Michael Jackson, Phil Collins, Brian McKnight). Columbian superstar Maia, and our very own, Delta Goodrem, also coached all singers.

The online event, aimed to raise funds and awareness about violence against women, was open only to women and attracted nearly 7000 singers from all over the world.

Veronica is excited and proud to be part of the experience.

"Combining philanthropy and singing has always been an ongoing practice for me ...
anyone I have ever shared my love of singing with, anyone who learns how to sing, learns not just music and the joy and fun it brings but gains self-respect, self-esteem, discipline and confidence," she said.

"With those things, anyone can do what they set out to do without limiting beliefs."

The top ten finalists will be determined through a mix of public voting, and a judging panel of celebrities including Fergie, Natasha Bedingfield, Lea Salonga and our own Delta Goodrem.

The top 10 are later offered a chance to record an album with multi-award winning songwriter, Diane Warren, who has written timeless songs for hundreds of artists, including LeAnn Rimes, Toni Braxton and Mariah Carey, in New York.

The album will be sold worldwide with a portion of funds being raised for women’s charities, particularly the Avon Foundation for Women, who already have raised millions towards causes that affect women.
